Career Counselor fice of Job The Northeast Minnesota Office of Job Training is accepting applications for a Career Counselor position a the Minnesota Workforce Center in Cloquet. The Office of Job Training is a partner in the Minnesota Career Force system in the 7-county Northeast region and administers state and federal employment and training programs for dislocated workers, low-income adults, and youth Programs administered by the Office of Job Training include: the Minnesota Youth Program, employment and training services for the MN Family Investment Program, Minnesota Dislocated Worker Program, and federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act services for dislocated workers, adults, and at-risk youth Position will work primarily with: youth ages 14-24 and individuals on public assistance but may also include case management and customer service for other adult job seekers. With a special emphasis on working with youth as well as participants in the Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) Providing employment and training services, including career counseling (assessment of interests and abilities, job search strategies, and guidance related to education and vocational training), ensuring program compliance, and providing career exploration and planning services to students. Position entails: Both individual case management and conducting group workshops and presentations. a four-year degree in the behavioral/social sciences, education or a related field; .possess excellent interpersonal communication skills be able to reliably work independently; experience with group presentation/public speaking strong computer skills and organizational abilities Previous experience working with youth/students, public assistance programs, and/or counseling and case management highly preferred Cloquet Workforce Center, 14 N 11th Street, Suite 140, Monday through Friday from 8-4:30, but entails travel throughout Cartlton county.
