Paid A Personal Message from ISD709 Principals As principals of the elementary and secondary schools in ISD 709, we are looking ahead to the very important vote happening on Election Day, which is two short days from now. Leading the students and staff of Duluth Public Schools is an hon- or and privilege. Your continued commitment to funding the work in which we are engaged is essential. With your Yes' vote to all three Duluth School District questions you are saying, Yes, I support public education. Yes, I support our local schools. Yes, I will invest an additional $13.67 a month into the education of children in our community. As committed principals and assistant principals of Duluth Public Schools, we want to publicly thank you for your continued support. The sacrifices you make on a daily basis are meaningful and recognized. Back in 2013, you approved a five year operating levy that made a direct impact in the classroom through reduced class size, curriculum updates and profession- al learning community structures to address multi-tiered systems of support for students. It is essential that you vote "Yes" to Question 1 on this year's ballot to maintain the excellent work and progress made possible since 2013. We are asking for a "Yes vote to Question 2 so we can have a greater impact on students with additional staff, teachers, and resources in our schools. We are all about continuous growth and improvement. Every day we are reflecting on the past and adjusting for the future, so all students and staff can be even more successful. Additional educators will support structures for stronger relationships, address stu- dents social emotional well-being and provide targeted academic interventions With the positive vote for Question 2, Duluth's education system will be supported by an operating levy closer to the Minnesota state average which is approximately $966.00 per student, as opposed to Duluth's current levy at $371.78 per student. Voting "Yes to Question 3 is an investment in technology across our entire district. Similar to continuous maintenance and repair of roads and bridges, our technolog- ical infrastructure is in need of significant updates. Enhancements to technology in all of our classrooms will give additional means to provide a world-class education and 21st Century leaming opportunities. Professional development will be inten- tional and focused on evidence-based best practice of incorporating technology in the classroom. Ensuring that all students have equal access to devices will become a reality Public education is an investment in the future of our community. As servant lead- ers, we will be good stewards of your investment. We are proud of our students! We are proud of our staff We are proud of our community! Thank you for voting Yes, Yes, Yes and supporting your public schools.
