THANK YOU! For more than 20 years Lake Superior Medical Equipment has served the community from our store and warehouse located at 522 East 4th Street in Duluth's Hillside neighborhood. On Wednesday, September 14, 2022, a fire broke out. The building and everything in it, including our business, was destroyed. So, why are we saying thanks? Because we have so much to be thankful for. We are thankful because no one was injured and all our employees are safe. We are thankful for the incredible first responders, especially the firefighters, who risked their lives battling the wind-fed flames for many hours, preventing the fire from engulfing neighboring buildings. We are thankful for the citizen who alerted the residents on the top floor of the building, all of whom were able to safely evacuate the building. We are thankful for our amazing staff, who jumped into action and immediately began moving all our operations to our store in Cloquet MN, so that we could continue to provide needed medical equipment and supplies to our customers. And we are thankful for all the support we have received from our community, including from providers, caregivers, vendors, customers, fellow medical equipment companies and our Hillside neighbors. Until something like this happens, it's easy to lose sight of everything we have to be thankful for and what an incredible city we live in. We intend to stay in Duluth (how could we think of leaving this town?) and are already searching for a new location, hopefully in the Hillside neighborhood. For now, we will serve our customers from our store in Cloquet. Yes, we took a hit when our business burned, but it also showed us how much we have to be grateful for.
