NOTICE SPRING LOAD RESTRICTIONS NORTH CENTRAL &NORTH ZONE Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 169.87 and St. Louis County Ordinance No. 13 dated March 13, 1972, St. Louis County highways located in the North and North-Central Frost Zones will be posted at 12:01A.M. on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. The North Zone includes the area north of US Highway 2 and east of State Highway 33. The North-Central Zone includes the area south of US Highway 2 and west of State Highway 33. Information on zone boundaries can be obtained by following the Seasonal Load Limits link from MnDOT's website at www mndot.gov/loadlimits Highway maintenance vehicles, mobile library units school buses, and emergency public utility vehicles fall under specific requirement as described in Minnesota Statute 169.87, Subd. 3, 4, 5 & 6. Propane and fuel oil haulers should consider topping off their customers' tanks prior to the posting of spring load restrictions since their hauling vehicles are overweight on many of the posted County roads even when empty Unpaved Roads: Any unposted unpaved roads are limited to 5 tons per axle. Road postings higher than the 5 ton limitation are effective only if the postings are in place Paved Roads: All paved roads will be posted with the effective per axle weight restrictions. Once the Spring load restrictions are applied they will remain in force until they are lifted by Mn/DOT Load restriction maps are posted on our web site at www stlouiscountymn.gov/roadrestrictions.
