The film captured three minutes of ordinary life in a small, predominantly Jewish town in Poland. Kurtz painstakingly restored the film, and from interviews, photographs, documents, and artifacts he was able write his book and share the film. Both are riveting exploration of memory, loss, and improbable survival in a Jewish town in Poland. More than a memorial to the lost, it creates a meeting ground for a living community.
