Baeumler-Kaplan Holocaust Commemoration Committee presents: Three Minutes: A Lengthening Film Screening followed by Q & A with Dr. Glenn Kurtz Author of Three Minutes in Poland Monday, October 21, 2024 6:00 pm UMD Solon Campus Center 120 and Book Talk with Dr. Kurtz: Three Minutes in Poland Tuesday, October 22, 2024 12:00 pm UMD KAM Library 4th Floor Rotunda Dr. Glenn Kurtz discovered a film made by his grandfather made one year before WWII. The film captured three minutes of ordinary life in a small, predominantly Jewish town in Poland. Kurtz painstakingly restored the film, and from interviews, photographs, documents, and artifacts he was able write his book and share the film. Both are riveting exploration of memory, loss, and improbable survival in a Jewish town in Poland. More than a memorial to the lost, it creates a meeting ground for a living community.
